Football Coaches Australia (FCA) confirms that its member, Alen Stajcic, has been notified today by Football Federation Australia that the 9 months’ notice period in his employment contract has been activated.

During the notice period, Stajcic will not remain in his role as Matildas Head Coach.

FCA has and will continue to support its member throughout this process. This has included the facilitation of independent legal representation to assist Stajcic in exploring all available options.

FCA President Phil Moss stated:
“Alen is a valued member of FCA and will receive our full support during this difficult period. We look forward to FFA honouring all of its contractual commitments.

Alen has overseen one of the most successful periods in Australian football history, having led the Matildas to the Quarter Finals of the 2015 World Cup and 2016 Olympic Games, and the Final of the2018 Asian Cup, as well as being the inaugural winner of the Tournament of Nations in 2017.”

On the basis of legal advice, no further comment will be provided at this time.
